Frac Sand for Oil and Natural Gas Industry
The demand for frac sand started in the late 2000s when the use of hydraulic fracturing become the standard method of producing oil and gas from the rock formations such as in the Appalachian Basin.
In 2009, Nugent Sand, utilizing its knowledge of high-quality sand mining and processing, saw an opportunity to expand its business and started supplying frac sand.
In 2019, Nugent Sand finished a multi-million-dollar expansion in dry screening, silo storage and a third shipping lane primarily for its frac sand business. The combination of our deposit, wash process and state-of-the-art dry plant positions Nugent Sand as a high quality and reliable frac sand supplier. Nugent Sand supplies 30/50, 40/70 and 100 mesh grades to the oil and gas industry.
